Make an impact supporting middle school students in a dedicated self-contained mental health and behavior program for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position, based in a school environment near Dover, NH, offers a rewarding opportunity for a Special Education Teacher passionate about fostering social, emotional, and academic growth. What Were Looking For:
- Valid New Hampshire Teaching License (required)
- Experience in special education and/or behavioral programs preferred
- Familiarity with mental health support strategies, de-escalation, and individualized instruction
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing, parent meetings, and multi-disciplinary collaboration
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage evaluations, case files, IEPs, and scheduled meetings
What Youll Do:
- Lead instruction for a self-contained classroom focused on mental health and behavioral needs
- Develop and implement individualized learning and behavioral plans
- Administer student evaluations and assessments
- Maintain accurate case files, write reports, and manage IEPs
- Facilitate meetings with families and educational teams to ensure student success
- Provide positive behavior support and foster an inclusive, structured classroom atmosphere
This contract runs from September 1, 2026, to June 16, 2027, with a schedule aligned to school hours (7:30 AM - 2:20 PM), offering 32.5-35 hours weekly. Class sizes typically range from 10-16 students, ensuring the ability to give focused attention to each learners needs.
