Step into a rewarding contract role as a Special Education Teacher, supporting a K-2 Self-Contained Life Skills class. This assignment covers a maternity leave from November through March, providing you the chance to make a meaningful impact in a nurturing school environment. With a dedicated schedule of 37.5 hours per week, youll work alongside a collaborative staff to deliver engaging, individualized instruction to young learners.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential/certification
- Prior experience with elementary-aged students, preferably K-2
- Background in Life Skills or self-contained classroom settings
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Comfort with differentiating instruction and implementing IEPs
- Collaborative spirit when working with families, support staff, and administration
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans focused on students life skills and academic growth
- Facilitate a positive, structured classroom environment tailored to the needs of each child
- Support students social, academic, and emotional development
- Collect data and monitor students progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with classroom aides, specialists, and families to ensure cohesive support
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs within the classroom
