Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher at an elementary school in Derry, NH. This contract position for the current school year (CSY) involves working with up to 20 students, managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborating with support staff such as paraprofessionals or behavioral technicians. The position offers a schedule of 37.5 hours per week or an option for 3 days a week, providing some flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of elementary students with disabilities.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and progress.
  • Collaborate with classroom aides and other support personnel to facilitate effective learning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate regularly with families and school staff.
  • Participate in training and ongoing professional development provided by the district.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid New Hampshire Special Education (SPED) teaching license required.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting.
  • Ability to manage a caseload of up to 20 students effectively.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
