Job Description

A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available in a K-12 school setting in Denver, CO. This contract position covers a leave of absence, beginning immediately and continuing through March 2, 2026, with the possibility of extension pending a decision in late February. The schedule includes 40 hours per week, with the exact location to be determined.

Key qualifications include holding a current Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Professional Teacher License with a Special Education Generalist endorsement for grades 5-21. Candidates must provide proof of the correct license or an active application statusalternative licenses such as travelers, substitute, temporary, or interim will not be considered unless an appropriate SPED license application has been submitted. The license should read as follows:

  • Endorsed in: Special Education Generalist (5-21)

This role is not open for virtual or hybrid arrangements.

Responsibilities focus on delivering specialized instruction aligned with special education standards, supporting students across alternative standards, and demonstrating a deep understanding of the IEP process. A strong emphasis is placed on collaborative teamwork with other professionals to ensure an effective IEP team experience. Candidates should be prepared to discuss their teaching methods, instructional strategies, and expertise in Specially Designed Instruction during the interview.
