Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available to provide dedicated support for K-12 students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Cognitive Impairments (CI). This contract role will run through the current school year, starting immediately and continuing until June 5, 2026. The assignment is located in Ypsilanti, MI, within a public school setting aimed at fostering educational growth and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and tailored support to students in elementary ASD and CI classrooms.
  • Manage caseloads including one 2nd/3rd grade classroom and one 4th/5th grade classroom.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with families and staff.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Michigan CI (Cognitive Impairment) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) Special Education teaching license.
  • Experience working with K-12 students with ASD and CI.
  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student development.

Location: Ypsilanti, MI
Schedule: Full-time, School Year Contract (ASAP - June 5, 2026)
