This position focuses on inclusive teaching for students with a range of mild-to-moderate disabilities, including learning disabilities, emotional behavior disorders, and mild intellectual disabilities, providing an integrated environment rather than separating by specific diagnoses.
With two openingsone at the middle school level and one at high schoolyoull positively impact students academic, emotional, and social growth. The role starts August 18, 2026, and runs through June 10, 2027, offering stability and a unique chance to grow professionally.
Key Qualifications:
- Holds or eligible for Wisconsin Cross-Categorical Special Education certification (License #2801)
- Demonstrated background working with students on the autism spectrum
- Experience in a cross-categorical or inclusive special education setting is highly valued
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams, students, and families
- Creative problem-solving and adaptability to serve students evolving needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Teach and support students with varying exceptionalities in a collaborative classroom environment
- Plan, adapt, and deliver differentiated instruction based on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collect and report data on student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Foster strong, supportive relationships with students and parents
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP development
