An opportunity is available for a full-time Special Education Teacher in an elementary school setting, located in Salem, OR. This contract position runs from ASAP through the end of the school year (EOY) and serves students across K-12 grade levels. The role focuses on providing tailored educational support to students with special needs, fostering an inclusive learning environment that promotes growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for K-12 students with special needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to address student needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state regulations
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and needs
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification in Special Education
- Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings
- Strong understanding of individualized teaching methods and accommodations
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
