Job Description

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support diverse learners at the elementary level within a resource room setting. This full-time position offers a contract for the current school year, providing a meaningful environment to impact student growth and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities in a resource room environment.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state standards and student goals.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and promote inclusive practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior.
  • Communicate regularly with families to foster partnerships in student development.
  • Manage a high school caseload, ensuring compliance with all state and federal special education regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Colorado Special Education Teacher License is required.
  • Experience working with elementary students in special education settings.
  • Ability to manage and support a diverse caseload with professionalism and empathy.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to differentiated instruction and continuous learning.

Location: This position is based in Colorado Springs, CO, within an elementary school.
