Key Qualifications:

  • Current New Mexico special education teaching license (required)
  • Experience working with students at the elementary, middle, or high school level
  • Strong understanding of diverse learning needs and differentiated instruction
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and families
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student goals and needs
  • Employ effective instructional strategies and accommodations to support varied learning styles
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists to promote student progress
  • Monitor and document student achievement, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
  • Communicate regularly with families and caregivers about student growth and program updates
  • Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and ongoing professional learning
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and encouraging classroom atmosphere
