Make a real difference educating and supporting students with diverse learning needs as a Special Education Teacher in Alaskas beautiful Kenai Peninsula. This rewarding contract opportunity focuses on K-12 students, offering the chance to build meaningful relationships and transform classroom experiences for learners with exceptionalities. Hours are full-time at 40 hours weekly, across traditional school days, allowing you to engage deeply in student progress and collaborate closely with school staff.
Your expertise in special education will be valued and put to use as you:
Qualifications & Credentials:
- Possess a valid Special Education (SPED) teaching license
- Hold all state-mandated credentials or certifications for special education
- Demonstrate knowledge and commitment to inclusive educational practices
- Exhibit strong communication, organization, and collaborative skills
- Experience with individualized education programs (IEPs) or case management is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instructional strategies for diverse learners in K-12 settings
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and support staff to ensure optimal student support
- Monitor, document, and assess student progress to guide ongoing instruction
- Adapt curriculum and environment to best meet student needs
- Maintain compliance with all relevant guidelines and reporting requirements
- Caseload size may vary, providing opportunities to support a range of students
