A special education teaching opportunity is available for a dedicated professional to support students with disabilities in an onsite school setting located in Cicero, IL. This position is a contract role for the current school year (CSY), offering structured daytime hours from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address each students unique needs. The role involves close collaboration with parents, school administrators, general education teachers, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive and effective IEPs. You will be responsible for ensuring accommodations and modifications are consistently applied as outlined within each students plan.
Instruction and curriculum adaptation are central to this role. You will provide direct instruction using differentiated teaching methods and materials to support diverse learning styles. Modifying and adapting the general education curriculum will help make content accessible for students with various disabilities. The use of visual aids, hands-on activities, and assistive technology will enhance overall student engagement and success.
