A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for a middle school serving students in grades 6-8 in Chicago, IL. This contract assignment spans the entire school year, providing a stable and meaningful role focused on delivering tailored educational support to students with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students on your caseload, collaborating with general education teachers, parents, and support staff, and monitoring student progress to ensure academic and social growth. The position requires effective classroom management and the ability to adapt teaching techniques to accommodate various disabilities within the special education framework.
Qualifications for this role include a Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement, validating specialized expertise in special education. Candidates should have experience working with middle school students and be skilled in creating inclusive learning environments that foster student development.
