Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for elementary school students in grades K-5 near Elmwood Park, IL. This contract role for the current school year involves working in a collaborative environment with 4 co-teaching sections and 1 instructional section, supporting the diverse needs of students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instructional support to K-5 students within co-teaching and self-contained settings.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique learning requirements.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, school psychologists, social workers, and other team members to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Track student progress and adjust instruction to meet IEP goals effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (LBS1 preferred).
  • At least three years of successful experience teaching students with disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in special education strategies and compliance with state educational standards.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
