An immediate opening is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to serve Kindergarten and 1st-grade students in a full-time contract role through the end of the school year. This position is based near Oak Lawn, IL, with opportunities in the Chicago area, providing specialized instructional support to young learners with diverse educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instructional services to Kindergarten and 1st-grade students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student development and progress.
- Monitor, assess, and document student performance and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment promoting student engagement and growth.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Special Education Teacher license with LBS1 certification.
- Experience working with early elementary students in a special education setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to implement effective teaching methods suited for diverse learners.
Position Details:
- Location: Oak Lawn, IL (serving nearby Chicago locations)
- Contract duration: Immediate start through the end of the current school year.
- Work schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week.
