Job Description

A Special Education Teacher is needed for the 2025-2026 school year to support high school students aged 15-18, covering grades 10 through 12. This full-time contract position begins ASAP and continues through May 2026. The role involves working in a well-organized high school environment with established processes and collaborating alongside two other special education teachers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students with diverse needs including Learning Disabilities (LD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Other Health Impairments (OHI), and Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH).
  • Providing instruction and support that meets both academic and behavioral goals.
  • Collaborating with school staff and families to ensure student success.
  • Adapting teaching methods to address a range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate documentation.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with high school students.
  • Familiarity with IEP development and compliance.
  • Ability to support students with LD, ASD, OHI, and DHH eligibility.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Location: Chesaning, MI (High School Setting)
