Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education (SPED) licensure appropriate for the targeted grade levels
- Previous experience working with students in grades 4-6 preferred
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and interventions for students with varied educational needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to foster a supportive and engaging classroom atmosphere
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction in academic skills for students with special needs in grades 4-6
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) specific to student goals
- Adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of achievement and ongoing needs
- Work closely with other educators, support staff, and families to ensure the best possible outcomes
