Job Description

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support K-12 students in a dynamic school setting located in Cambridge, MA. This contract position spans the current school year, providing essential specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
  • Adapt general education curriculum to accommodate special education students.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to support student progress.
  • Monitor and document student performance and behavior, providing updates to stakeholders.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and promote their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Ensure compliance with special education laws and regulations.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid state certification in Special Education.
  • Experience teaching special education across K-12 grade levels.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and use assistive technology.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
