Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in a K-12 school setting located in Byfield, MA. This contracted role supports a medically fragile program at Newbury Elementary School, serving a caseload of five students across grades K, 1, 3, and 5. The assignment offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners requiring specialized educational support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the academic and medical needs of medically fragile students.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Monitor student progress, adapting strategies to promote optimal growth and development.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and communicate regularly with families and school staff.
  • Uphold compliance with all state and federal special education regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching license.
  • Demonstrated experience working with medically fragile or special needs students is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage a small, focused caseload with individualized attention.
