Make a difference as a Special Education Teacher supporting students with physical and health disabilities in a dynamic K-12 environment! This contract opportunity runs from August 24, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Youll play a vital role in helping students thrive by providing direct support, collaboration, and expertise to create accessible and inclusive classrooms.
What Youll Bring:
- Current Special Education licensure with Physical and Health Disabilities (P/HD) endorsement
- Experience working with K-12 students as a Teacher of the Physically Impaired
- Strong understanding of curriculum modifications and classroom accessibility
- Familiarity with assistive technology to support student learning
- Proven ability to conduct functional evaluations and develop IEPs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members including occupational therapists, physical therapists, and general education teachers
- Passion for supporting learners of all abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide itinerant support, consultations, and guidance on curriculum modification and assistive technology
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and actively contribute to the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor and document student progress while maintaining due process compliance
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver holistic support to students
- Consult with and provide training to staff regarding classroom accessibility and instructional strategies
