Job Description

A full-semester contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in Burnsville, MN. This role focuses on providing specialized instruction tailored to students with a range of disabilities, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes academic and behavioral growth.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota Teaching Credential with certification in one or more of the following areas:
    • Special Education: Autism Spectrum Disorders
    • Special Education: Developmental Disabilities
    • Special Education: Early Childhood
    • Special Education: Emotional Behavioral Disorders
    • Special Education: Learning Disabilities
    • Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (optional, allows service to students with mild to moderate needs across multiple disabilities)
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students
  • Ability to manage and support a caseload of students requiring individualized education programs

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver special education instruction and interventions aligned with student IEPs
  • Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and families to support student progress
  • Monitor and document student growth and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Role Details:

  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week
  • Elementary school setting
  • Contract duration: One full semester
