Job Description
This full-time special education teaching position offers the opportunity to work with Kindergarten and 1st-grade students, providing specialized instruction and support. The contract begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year, with a 35-hour workweek. The role requires a licensed Special Education Teacher in Illinois with an LBS1 endorsement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to Kindergarten and 1st-grade students with special education needs
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each students unique requirements
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive learning environments
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain detailed records and communicate effectively with parents and guardians
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Special Education teaching license with LBS1 endorsement
- Experience teaching young learners, especially Kindergarten and 1st grade, in special education settings
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Ability to create engaging and accessible lesson plans that meet diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
