This opportunity is for an experienced Special Education Teacher to support an elementary self-contained adaptive classroom in a behavioral setting. The assignment runs from late February to mid-May 2026 and requires working onsite in Buford, GA. This position focuses on serving students with behavioral challenges, providing a structured and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction in a self-contained classroom tailored to students with special education needs
- Manage challenging behaviors effectively and compassionately
- Complete required restraint training and use restraint techniques when necessary to ensure student and staff safety
- Collaborate with support staff and administration to develop and implement behavior intervention plans
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular communication about student progress
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) license in Special Education
- Experience working in behavior-focused special education settings
- Ability to complete restraint training and confidently apply restraint protocols
- Strong classroom management skills and patience in addressing challenging behaviors
- Commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment
