Job Description

This opportunity is for an experienced Special Education Teacher to support an elementary self-contained adaptive classroom in a behavioral setting. The assignment runs from late February to mid-May 2026 and requires working onsite in Buford, GA. This position focuses on serving students with behavioral challenges, providing a structured and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction in a self-contained classroom tailored to students with special education needs
  • Manage challenging behaviors effectively and compassionately
  • Complete required restraint training and use restraint techniques when necessary to ensure student and staff safety
  • Collaborate with support staff and administration to develop and implement behavior intervention plans
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular communication about student progress

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) license in Special Education
  • Experience working in behavior-focused special education settings
  • Ability to complete restraint training and confidently apply restraint protocols
  • Strong classroom management skills and patience in addressing challenging behaviors
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment
