Job Description

This contract opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support high school students in Bristol, RI for the current school year. The position is onsite with a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, running from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM. Teachers will manage a caseload of 15-17 students and engage in co-teaching within a high school setting.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Rhode Island Special Education (SPED) License
  • Secondary certification for high school through the Rhode Island Department of Education
  • Experience working with diverse learners in a special education environment preferred

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing individualized instruction, accommodations, and support to students with special needs
  • Collaborating with general education teachers in co-teaching classrooms
  • Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Monitoring progress and maintaining detailed student records
  • Participating in team meetings and professional development sessions
