An opportunity is available for two Special Education Teachers to support student success in an elementary school setting located in Bridgton, ME. These full-time, onsite contract positions offer a dynamic environment where educators work closely with students requiring specialized support.
Position Details:
- Discipline: Special Education Teacher (2 openings)
- Location: Elementary school in Bridgton, ME
- Caseloads: One position supports a 3rd-grade case manager with a caseload of 12 students, alongside two support staff. The second position serves as a Life Skills teacher/case manager with a caseload of 6 students.
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full time
- Duration: Contract (CSY)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in compliance with state guidelines.
- Collaborate with support staff to deliver tailored instruction and interventions.
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with families and staff.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that addresses the diverse needs of students.
Qualifications:
- Maine Special Education Teaching Certification required
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education capacity preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
