Job Description
This opportunity is for Special Education Teachers to join a K-12 public school located in Bellows Falls, Vermont. The position is available immediately and runs through the end of the current school year, offering a full-time 37.5 hour per week contract commitment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in grades 6-12
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusive learning environments
- Manage caseloads effectively, including for a hybrid case manager role with an elementary caseload
- Maintain compliance with Vermont special education regulations and documentation standards
Qualifications:
- Valid Vermont Special Education teaching license is required; the district is willing to assist with provisional licensing if needed
- Experience in middle and high school special education settings preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Flexibility to adapt to a variety of student needs and school environments
