This contract role offers a rewarding opportunity to support students with special needs in an educational setting within Beaufort, SC. The position involves working onsite at schools serving a diverse student population, including early childhood and severe and profound special education programs.
Locations:
- Early Childhood Special Education at Okatie Elementary in Bluffton, SC
- Severe and Profound Program at May River High School in Bluffton, SC
Schedule and Contract Details:
- Full-time hours: 37.5 per week
- Contract position requiring commitment to onsite responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including teachers, therapists, and families to support student development
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to promote academic, social, and behavioral growth
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in ongoing assessments
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with early childhood or severe and profound needs populations preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with families and school staff
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
