Job Description

A licensed Michigan Special Education Teacher is sought to deliver essential educational services to middle and high school students with diverse learning needs. This full-time contract position spans the 2025/2026 school year, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan special education endorsement
  • Strong background in developing and implementing IEPs
  • Experience with emotional and behavioral disabilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in co-teaching and self-contained classroom settings
  • Proficient in conducting assessments and providing progress reports
  • Must pass a background check and be authorized to work in the US

Location: Battle Creek, MI

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Assess students' progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet their needs
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and conduct assessments
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student development
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
