Job Description
A full-time Special Education Teacher is needed for a contract position in Oak Lawn, IL, starting as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the school year. This role involves working closely with Kindergarten and 1st grade students, delivering specialized instruction tailored to their individual learning needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing individualized and group instruction to support students with special education needs
- Designing and implementing lesson plans aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student progress
- Monitoring and documenting student achievements and challenges
- Maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications and experience needed:
- Valid Illinois Special Education Teacher license with LBS1 endorsement
- Experience working with early elementary students, preferably Kindergarten and 1st grade
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and best instructional practices
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and communicate progress clearly
