Job Description

A teaching opportunity is available for a dedicated special education professional to support a 5th-grade caseload at an elementary school in Aurora, IL. This contract position runs from December 1 to May 29, 2026, and requires full-time, on-site presence. Virtual interviews will be conducted within the week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of 5th-grade students.
  • Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning challenges.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure educational goals are met.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Illinois Special Education teaching certification.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in special education settings.
  • Strong knowledge of state special education laws and best practices.
  • Ability to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
