Make a meaningful difference by supporting K-12 students as an Assistive Technology Teacher in a dynamic educational environment near Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove, IL. In this contract position, youll collaborate with students, educators, and families to deliver specialized instruction and innovative technology solutions, fostering greater access and independence for learners with diverse needs. This opportunity involves working with a range of students as part of both the Early Childhood Assessment Team and serving across multiple elementary buildings.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Illinois Assistive Technology (IL AT) credentials required
- Experience in Special Education teaching settings
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology tools and adaptive strategies
- Ability to work effectively with early childhood through elementary school students
- Proven skills in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Core Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and identify appropriate assistive technology supports
- Develop and implement individualized strategies and interventions in both assessment and classroom settings
- Consult with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure effective integration of technology solutions
- Adjust and adapt teaching methods based on evaluation and student progress
- Manage and track technology equipment, maintaining clear documentation
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
