Job Description

This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in a resource classroom setting. The position will serve 4th and 5th grade students with specialized learning needs and requires a dedicated professional with an active Illinois Special Education license. The role is full-time, with a contract extending until May 29, 2026, providing a stable and impactful teaching assignment.

Location:

  • Arlington Heights, IL
  • Elementary School setting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of students in grades 4 and 5
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with team members and families
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to ensure academic success
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents, staff, and administration
  • Foster a classroom environment that supports social, emotional, and academic growth

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Illinois Special Education teaching license (PEL required)
  • Experience working in a school environment with students in special education settings
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a resource classroom and implement effective instructional strategies
  • Strong candidate with proven skills in collaboration and student advocacy

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, approximately 35 to 37.5 hours per week
  • Contract position for the 2023-2026 school cycle, starting ASAP and ending May 29, 2026
