A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at an elementary school in Arlington Heights, IL, specializing in working with 4th and 5th-grade students within a resource classroom setting. This contract role is onsite, providing an excellent opportunity to engage directly with students while delivering tailored educational support in a dynamic school environment. The position offers a 35 to 37.5-hour workweek during the current school year (CSY).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in the resource classroom
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student learning and development
• Monitor and assess student progress, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Manage classroom behavior and create a supportive, inclusive learning environment
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Special Education License (IL Sp. Ed. License)
• Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Experience working with elementary students in special education settings, preferably with 4th and 5th-grade resource classrooms
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work onsite full-time and manage a diverse caseload effectively
