Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher specializing as a DCD (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities) educator. This contract opportunity is based onsite at an elementary setting, providing dedicated instruction and support to a caseload of approximately nine students. Youll work full-time, Monday through Friday, with scheduled hours from about 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to students with developmental cognitive disabilities, adapting lessons to meet IEP goals.
- Design classroom activities and behavioral supports structured for students needs.
- Collaborate with general education staff, student support teams, and families to foster an inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Complete documentation and progress reporting in accordance with state and district standards.
- Employ effective classroom management strategies and positive behavioral interventions.
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development sessions, and ongoing professional learning.
Required Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota Special Education Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4) requiredattach your certificate and resume for consideration.
- Demonstrated experience teaching students with developmental cognitive disabilities (previous experience in DCD settings strongly preferred).
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner with families, staff, and support personnel.
- Organizational skills for case management and documentation.
