Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive and engaging school setting near Ann Arbor, MI. This full-time contract role offers an opportunity to shape outcomes for students with diverse learning needs during the upcoming academic year, August 24, 2026, through June 4, 2027.
Seeking three dedicated professionals:
- Two positions in Elementary Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Cognitive Impairment (CI) self-contained classrooms.
- One position in the Resource Room supporting students with individualized needs.
Ideal candidates bring expertise, flexibility, and a passion for student success.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Active Michigan Special Education Teacher license in either CI (Cognitive Impairment) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) required; please ensure your license is currently valid.
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
- Experience working within elementary self-contained ASD/CI classrooms or resource room settings preferred.
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), progress monitoring, and specialized interventions.
- Ability to collaborate with classroom staff, therapists, and families for effective student support.
- Commitment to fostering inclusion, engagement, and academic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and specialized strategies tailored to individual student needs.
- Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintain detailed records and progress reports.
- Collaborate with related service providers and families to ensure a cohesive approach.
- Foster a positive, safe, and productive classroom culture.
