Job Overview:

Sunbelt Staffingis seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality instruction and support to students with disabilities. This role requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic and social growth. The position is full-time.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
Deliver differentiated instruction to students with disabilities in alignment with curriculum standards
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student success
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
Maintain compliance with all NYS education regulations and district policies
Participate in professional development and team meetings

Qualifications:

Valid state teaching certification in Special Education (NYS Certification for Students with Disabilities)
Willingness to work withStudents With Disabilities (All Grades) OR Students With Disabilities (Grades 1-6)
Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters degree preferred)
Knowledge of special education laws, including IDEA and Section 504
Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with students, parents, and staff
Proficiency with educational technology and assistive technology tools
Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with disabilities
Ability to assess and monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
Case load details- EVALS NEEDED : Portuguese--one cognitive and/or academic. Spanish--one academic and/or cognitive.
