Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available serving pre-kindergarten and 1st-grade students in an elementary school setting. This contract position supports a substantially separate classroom with a caseload of fewer than ten students who have moderate to severe special needs. The role requires dedication to providing individualized instruction and support tailored to each student's unique learning requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instructional programs for students in pre-kindergarten through 1st grade with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Manage a small, substantially separate classroom environment fostering growth and development
  • Collaborate with related service providers, families, and school staff to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
  • Maintain thorough documentation and compliance with special education regulations
  • Participate in professional development and team meetings as required

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience working with young children with moderate to severe special needs preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel as a contractor to the assigned school location
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to a full-time contract school year position
