Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active New Mexico Special Education teaching license required
- Experience with elementary, middle, or high school populations
- Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and accommodations
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and fellow educators
- Adaptability to serve on diverse teams and work collaboratively in a school setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and differentiate lesson plans for exceptional learners
- Develop, write, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Engage students using varied instructional strategies tailored to individual needs
- Track student growth and document progress appropriately
- Coordinate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents
- Create a safe, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and team collaborations
