Job Description
A school district in Albany, OR is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to support K-12 students in an elementary school setting. This contract position runs from as soon as possible through the end of the school year (EOYS).
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction tailored to the individual needs of students with disabilities
- Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction as needed
- Maintaining accurate documentation and complying with district and state regulations related to special education services
- Supporting students social and emotional development alongside academic growth
Desired qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Special Education
- Experience teaching K-12 students with diverse learning needs
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and special education laws
- Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
