Job Description

A school-based social worker opportunity is available working with elementary students in Sterling Heights, Michigan. This full-time, contract position offers a 35-hour workweek during the current school year.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide counseling and support services to students addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop intervention plans
Conduct assessments to identify student needs and connect families with community resources
Participate in student support teams and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs)
Promote a positive school climate by addressing issues such as attendance, bullying, and family engagement

Qualifications:

Licensed social worker with valid state credentials for school social work
Experience working in an elementary school setting preferred
Strong skills in individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and families
Excellent communication and organizational skills

Location: Sterling Heights, Michigan
