Job Description

A school-based social worker opportunity is available working with elementary students in Sterling Heights, Michigan. This full-time, contract position offers a 35-hour workweek during the current school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide counseling and support services to students addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop intervention plans
  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs and connect families with community resources
  • Participate in student support teams and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Promote a positive school climate by addressing issues such as attendance, bullying, and family engagement

Qualifications:

  • Licensed social worker with valid state credentials for school social work
  • Experience working in an elementary school setting preferred
  • Strong skills in individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
