Job Description

A full-time social worker opportunity is available for a K-12 school district-wide position located onsite in Saint Joseph, MI. This W-2 contract role offers the chance to provide essential social-emotional and behavioral support services to students across the district for the current school year (CSY).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct social work services to students individually and in small groups, addressing social-emotional and behavioral needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify factors impacting student learning, including social, emotional, and environmental influences.
  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans collaboratively with educational staff and families.
  • Support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by aligning social work services with their educational goals.
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to eligibility determinations and service recommendations.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, counselors, and other support personnel to foster a positive and inclusive school climate.
  • Provide crisis intervention, restorative practices, and conflict resolution support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
  • Full or Temporary Approval as a School Social Worker in Michigan.
  • Strong knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), trauma-informed approaches, and social-emotional learning frameworks.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
