Job Description

A K-12 school in Mundelein, IL is seeking a dedicated Social Worker for a school year contract position. This role focuses on supporting students social, emotional, and behavioral needs to promote a positive learning environment across all grade levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans for students facing social and emotional challenges
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student well-being and academic success
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address issues such as anxiety, conflict resolution, and coping strategies
  • Connect families with community resources and support services as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes in compliance with school policies
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) when applicable

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
  • Valid Social Work license or certification required
  • Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, crisis intervention, and mental health issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
