Job Description

A dedicated Social Worker is needed to support K-12 students within a school setting in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. This full school year contract role involves providing comprehensive social work services to students, helping them navigate academic, social, and emotional challenges. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children across multiple grade levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess students social, emotional, and behavioral needs to develop individualized support strategies
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community resources to address student challenges and promote a positive school climate
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students across K-12 age groups
  • Facilitate group sessions and workshops aimed at fostering social skills and resilience
  • Maintain accurate documentation and case records following legal and ethical guidelines
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings concerning student welfare and educational plans

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in social work with valid licensure or certification appropriate for school settings
  • Experience working with school-aged children, ideally across a wide grade span (K-12)
  • Strong understanding of child development, mental health, and socio-emotional interventions
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educational staff and families
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Location: Mount Pleasant, Michigan
Contract Duration: Full school year, approximately 185 days
Work Hours: Approximately 7.25 to 8 hours per day
Assignment Details: Supporting multiple schools with caseload to be determined
