Job Description

A full-time school social worker is sought for the upcoming academic year, focusing on fostering students' social and emotional development within an elementary school setting. This role involves working closely with a diverse student population to provide essential support and interventions.

Qualifications:

  • Active Professional Educator License (PEL) in school social work
  • Experience in school settings, particularly with elementary students
  • Strong understanding of IEPs and cross-categorical interventions
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and other professionals

Location:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement service plans for special education students, addressing behavioral and social-emotional challenges
  • Provide both short- and long-term counseling to students referred for social/emotional difficulties
  • Identify and adapt instructional resources tailored to students' diverse needs
  • Assist staff in creating effective Response to Intervention (RTI) strategies and provide recommendations
  • Maintain documentation and evidence of service plans and interventions as required
