Key Qualifications:
- Current and valid Social Work license/certification suitable for school settings
- Previous experience as a School Social Worker or related role
- Understanding of child and adolescent development, as well as principles of trauma-informed care
- Ability to conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and provide both individual and group support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with students, families, and school personnel
- Familiarity with educational and community resources to connect families with necessary support services
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social and emotional support to students individually and in groups
- Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to address behavioral, academic, and attendance concerns
- Conduct thorough assessments, including risk evaluations and safety planning
- Develop and implement intervention strategies that reflect best practices for student well-being
- Act as a resource for crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and family outreach
- Facilitate connections between students, families, and community organizations to provide wraparound support
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and contribute to IEP/504 planning as needed
