A full-time Social Worker position is available within an elementary school setting located in Lincoln Park, MI. This contract opportunity runs from ASAP through June 10, 2026, supporting students with mild to moderate needs. The role focuses on providing direct counseling services and participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to advocate for and support the academic and social-emotional well-being of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group counseling to elementary students with mild to moderate challenges
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams during IEP meetings
- Assist in assessing student needs and developing appropriate intervention plans
- Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports for each caseload student
- Coordinate with paraprofessionals or other support staff as provided by the district
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid State of Michigan School Social Worker (SSW) license
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in elementary education
- Strong knowledge of counseling techniques, special education laws, and IEP processes
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Full-time assignment within an elementary school in Lincoln Park, MI
- Caseload focused on students with mild to moderate needs
- Virtual panel interview process with timely decision-making (typically within 24-48 hours)
- District provides supervision support through paraprofessionals or licensed staff
