Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for skilled social workers specializing in educational settings. Located in Joliet, IL, this role focuses on providing essential support to students in a K-12 school environment, with positions open for both elementary and early learning centers. The positions are available immediately and may extend into the summer and next school year.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish rules and procedures suitable for a therapeutic setting, aligned with the full instructional program.
  • Design and develop individualized service plans based on IEPs, utilizing diagnostic information from various assessments.
  • Act as a liaison using available human and material resources to connect the instructional program with students' homes and other services.
  • Facilitate effective transitions for students between therapy and classroom settings.
  • Collaborate with the educational team to plan for the prevention and intervention of inappropriate behaviors, ensuring student dignity is maintained.
  • Provide positive reinforcement and feedback to engage students actively in their learning process.
  • Maintain effective communication with students, family members, educational team members, and external professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Social Worker license and Professional Educator License (PEL).
  • Strong understanding of student development and the impact of disabilities on families.
  • Experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
