In a supportive educational environment, professionals will provide essential social work services to K-8 students. This full-time position, located near Flint, MI, focuses on addressing the diverse needs of 33 students, ensuring they have the support required for their academic and emotional development.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in social work (MSW)
• Valid state licensure as a School Social Worker with 310 certification
• Comprehensive knowledge of child development, mental health, and social service systems
• Familiarity with special education laws and procedures, including IDEA and 504 plans
• Strong skills in assessment, counseling, and crisis intervention

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to understand student needs and develop appropriate interventions
• Create Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to individual student requirements
• Act as a liaison between families and the school, providing support and resources
• Participate actively in IEP and 504 plan meetings, advocating for student needs
• Collaborate with educators and staff to implement strategies that promote student well-being
