Job Description

A Social Worker opportunity is available at a K-12 school in Des Plaines, IL, on a contract-to-hire basis for the current school year. This position supports social-emotional development and student well-being within a school setting, working with students, families, and school staff to address social, behavioral, and environmental challenges that impact student learning and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct social work services to K-12 students, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement interventions promoting positive social and emotional outcomes
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams and IEP meetings to advocate for student needs and services
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district policies and state regulations
  • Utilize district IEP systems and attend required team meetings

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Illinois Social Work (SSW) Certification and Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Experience working in school settings, preferably within K-12
  • Strong knowledge of student social-emotional development and community resources
  • Ability to work effectively within a caseload or workload model
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capacity to work one day per week with possible itinerant responsibilities

  • Schedule: One day per week during the school year; contract-to-hire

  • Duration: Current school year through end of school year
