Job Description

This position offers an opportunity to provide essential social work services within a middle school setting in Byron Center, MI. You will play a critical role in supporting students with special education needs by managing the existing caseload during the current social workers leave. This contract role requires a compassionate and skilled professional dedicated to student well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students with special education needs
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement intervention plans
  • Conduct assessments and support behavioral and emotional needs of middle school students
  • Maintain detailed case documentation and progress reports
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall supportive school environment

Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan School Social Worker license required
  • Experience working with middle school students, particularly those in special education programs
  • Strong knowledge of social work principles within educational settings
  • Ability to manage caseload effectively and maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
