This position offers an opportunity to provide essential social work services within a middle school setting in Byron Center, MI. You will play a critical role in supporting students with special education needs by managing the existing caseload during the current social workers leave. This contract role requires a compassionate and skilled professional dedicated to student well-being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students with special education needs
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement intervention plans
- Conduct assessments and support behavioral and emotional needs of middle school students
- Maintain detailed case documentation and progress reports
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall supportive school environment
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan School Social Worker license required
- Experience working with middle school students, particularly those in special education programs
- Strong knowledge of social work principles within educational settings
- Ability to manage caseload effectively and maintain confidentiality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
